Since I transitioned into my new job, I've been spending a lot of time and energy around our partnership with Apple.  One of the concrete results of our work is that IBM and Apple are teaming together on our focus on enterprise customers.  As such, Apple has indicated that they would love to see some of the Lotus customers or prospects come learn about Apple in the enterprise at an upcoming roadshow in the US.

Apple is looking for attendees from Fortune 1000-type enterprise organizations, and the attendee should be a decision-maker or key influencer in terms of enterprise solutions.

More details on dates and locations between now and February, 2009, can be found on Apple's website (this specific link is for IBM Lotus customers).

I'm a Lotus customer and an Apple customer and I have signed up for the Enterprise meeting in Miami. I'm happy to tell the story.

Only US currently which is a shame - I know a lot of organisations in the UK that would really appreciate such a roadshow.

We did a lengthy POC with the Mac laptops and iPhones. We decided to remove it as an offering for 2009. Too many issues with application compatibility, support, remote admin and security to be enterprise ready enough for our industry. We will keep working with Apple so we can potentially re-evaluate in late 2009.

I recently attended a KM conference where an Apple presenter gave his pitch for iPhone in the enterprise.

He dismissed each hard question with the response that it did not matter because APple owned 75% of the digital music market.

A total waste of my time.

Hopefully these presentations will have more information.

@6 I think the focus of these seminars is much more on the Mac desktop than iPhone. Having said that, I think Apple has demonstrated serious commitment to being an enterprise player across the board, and you should expect to hear more on all fronts.
