I was in Greensboro, North Carolina, barely long enough to sleep and have a customer meeting.  But thanks to a way-outdated Hertz NeverLost (which didn't know the airport exit roadway or Interstate Highway 40), a few detours took me down streets of many chain restaurants.

Who says the US is homogeneous --  Greensboro features these chains, old and new, that aren't anywhere near the Windy City:

  • Waffle House (I enjoy the hash browns capped...well, I did the one and only time I ate at one of these)
  • Chik Fil-a
  • Bojangles
  • Biscuitville
  • Sheetz (which sells gas in addition to "freshly-made food")

To my Carolina readers, what local flavor did I miss by not dining at any of these fine establishments?  We had lunch today instead at the Print Works Bistro, which is in the proximity of the Proximity Hotel.  Most excellent.
