Like I said...

This year, Microsoft is releasing a trio of tools and templates designed to ease a switch to its unified communications platform, which Microsoft has upgraded with the recently released Exchange 2007 and forthcoming upgrades to SharePoint Server 2007 and Office Communications Server 2007.

"This is what, the fifth or sixth time that Microsoft has built a magic box to migrate from Notes," said Ed Brill, a business unit executive for worldwide sales at IBM/Lotus. "What makes this one any more likely to succeed?"

Last year they released the "tools" early enough that the Paul Mooney and others where able to have a really good look at them and dispel the FUD with clear information about what they could and couldn't do.

This year the same spoiler, but what's this? No code to play with until everyone's at Lotusphere? How much of the wider IT press will be listening to the breakdown in a couple of weeks? Mmm Mmm, Fudelicous.

At least some of the press are getting wise to it. That's something.

Ed, I thought the Fontana's article was great, but it got pulled from NetworkWorld ({ Link } ) and resurfaced on ComputerWorld. Interesting editorial control. LS07 feels like Lotus knows it is the 800 lb gorilla.

@2 Jack, I think it just got republished. John had spell Lotus as "Louts" in his first publication.
