Thank you to Warren Elsmore, Stuart Downes, Sam Sheppard, and Paul Mooney for meeting up for an informal evening here in Manchester.  What a wonderful thing to conclude an intense three days in Europe.

I am also glad we all managed to keep those Blackberries and mobile devices away for a few hours of great conversation, despite tweets, txts, and intense blog wars.  The real world will always trump the virtual one, and it's part of what makes this job ... no...this life...enjoyable.  Cheers!

"I am also glad we all managed to keep those Blackberries and mobile devices away for a few hours of great conversation" - ah, that's why I couldn't get hold of you ;o)

Seriously though, it was late by the time the dinner in this hotel finished... but if I'd known for sure that you were in the Crowne Plaza I would have walked around the dangerous airport road in the dark to see you.

Are you staying long enough to see Manchester City beat Chelsea this Saturday?

@2 - I do hope City regain that early-season home form, it would be nice to see Chelski get a pasting. As for Sunday, c'mon the Boro.

Cummon Burra - I'll be there but sadly I don't think we (Boro) ever score more than one goal a game so my head says 3-1 to man-ure, sorry Darren.

@6 - the Boro scored two against Arsenal, so the least they can do is score two against ManYoo (preferably without letting three or more in).

Ed, thanks for hosting this football discussion for us (note: proper football played with a spherical ball, kicked with the feet, and no body armour or crash helmets).

Well it looks like Boro were able to play their socks off and knock the wind out of Scum U's sails!

Unfortunately City were not as convincing - although they did play very well! The only plus for this Blue, was that we inadvertently helped Chelski close the gap at the top!

@7 Darren, I think the other version of football you were comparing this too, is actually called Throwball!
