Ooh, pretty

March 12 2007

My Tuesday is occupied with Lotusphere Comes to You in central Wisconsin USA.  While I'm off buying cheese at Mars Cheese Castle, I'll leave some eye candy behind.  When's the last time anyone said that about Lotus Notes?!?!?!

Just don't forget to go back up north there during August for the Wisconsin State Fair, where everything goes with Beer, except perhaps for the Creme Puffs, which are a thing unto themselves. Well, there maybe some just as good out there, but none fresher and where else would one find a whole building devoted to them.

Have a nice day. Leinie is always a good choice up that way.

Sweet. I will likely load Notes 8 on my box which has the 24" widescreen LCD so hopefully I get something similar.

    How fun. Eye candy indeed.

@3 - you can dock the 'open' list so that it's always visible, this giving a single click.

Notes 8 is perfect for widescreen, I'm rather envious... apart from the colour choice... red background? Too in your face. I favour pastels ;o)

@3b - you can "summarize" it (i.e. a chronological list rather than timeslots) I think from the mini-app menu button.

@3b - duh sorry - did not read last part of your question.

Ok here's an odd one...anyone note that the options for send / receive etc which were down by the location switcher are no longer there? Does this just need to be enabled somewhere or is it gone for good?

Need to go look for that.

@7 - well interesting, answer my own question it seems the Send/Rec mail was moved to an action in the mail db itself...

Might have to create a toolbar button for that.

I would encourage you to post in the feedback forum so the whole dev team can see the it in one place.

@7 - it's on the action bar, or better yet, Alt-O-Enter does the trick.

I wasn't too impressed with the "preview on the right" feature when I first saw it in the beta. Just as I wasn't impressed when I first saw in in Outlook, either.

But on my (widescreen) Macbook Pro, it's a different story, altogether. It just fits so well!

The Macbook is running Windows (boo, hiss), obviously - had to get that dig in, Ed!

    Cheers,

Ed, thanks for posting this. I was surprised when I checked my statistics this morning, over 2000 views on flickr. wow.

@4 - The red background is especialy for one sender ;-) It was a showcase for one of my important customers, he liked it so see his mails in a red coloured background ;-)

From a usability standpoint I would like to work with my documents in the "preview on the right" section. But editing a document or answering an email will open an full screen view.
